Markets in Spring and Summer of this year speak of warmer tones like brushed brass, antique gold and gold leafing. Pastels such as lavender, robin’s egg blue and pink are hot, hot, hot. The burnt orange as seen in Fall and changing leaves was another color to be noticed.

Small space living has had a great impact as products in the furniture markets display smaller items for these tiny abodes. Dining tables have shrunk and petite martini tables and entertainment consoles have slimmed down with a low profile. Vintage, refurbished items have become more interesting to many consumers.

The Millennial influence is most definitely on the rise. Smoother lines and neutral color schemes are very appealing. My mother’s old sewing machine in our showroom is an “oldie” that catches many an eye. Vintage pieces such as this have many new uses. The phrase “out with the old and in with the new” is not necessarily the case.
