  • Re-imagining Residential Lighting

I’ve been hearing this word lately and I don’t believe I have ever used it in a sentence. So I looked up the meaning: to imagine anew, to rethink, new concepts were just a few definitions. In the Furniture, Lighting Decor magazine I receive, there was an interesting article about this very thing. The article was stating our relationship with our homes has shifted over the past several months.

It is true, our homes have become our offices, restaurants, schools, churches and entertainment centers. You name it, we are figuring a way to do it from home. So you can see, if homeowners notice ways their homes are not serving them, they are considering changes and rethinking ways to make these changes possible. And often, they need to depend on interior designers to assist them with these changes. You might say, the coronavirus pandemic has redefined our life at home. We want to be comfortable and at the same time mindful of expense. We want to create a space that is livable and suits our needs.

Desk lampAn inexpensive way to create comfort, flexibility and the look in a room is to consider table and floor lamps. Torchieres are excellent floor lamps that allow the light to shine upwards. Many homes do not have center ceiling lights and torchieres can help alleviate this issue. Heavy bases on lamps can prevent tipping by a pet or child and can still be decorative. Right now chrome and polished nickel are very popular finishes. Good lighting is essential for offices and for a student’s workspace. We offer all of these types of lamps.
