Yes, we are. Please let me share with you, outside of lighting, my recent experience. In May, my husband and I took a trip to Lancaster, PA to see a wonderful show, NOAH at the Sight and Sound Theatre. We decided to stay a few days and enjoy the Amish Village. We stayed in a lovely home right next door to an Amish Farm.
These folks live with no electricity or running water, cell phones or cars. They seem to enjoy living simply, growing their own vegetables, and raising their own cows, chickens, pigs, goats, and horses for their buggies.
We enjoyed a wonderful ride in one of their buggies with a very sweet and smart Amish girl. She had graduated from the 8th grade and now was working. She explained 8th grade is as far as their schooling goes. Experiencing this delightful trip made me ever so thankful for all I have.
As I said, they have no electricity. Let that sink in. When our power goes out, I panic. I wanted so to see how these soft spoken and kind people light their homes. I assume candles and oil lamps.
We have beautiful light fixtures in our homes, not to mention all the other extravagant things like cars and cell phones which I take for granted. If you ever have the opportunity to go to Lancaster PA, do so. You are guaranteed to come home with a grateful heart.
Speaking of grateful, I can never say thank you enough to our customers, vendors, and my wonderful employees. My heart is full!
